Staying competitive takes focus and creativity. There are many strategies for generating new clients as a security company that will help you make more money and keep your business thriving. While it seems counterintuitive, it will help you both grow your business while giving each of you a bigger pool of potential customers. Bonus: This strategy is free! Just make sure you have written agreements in place and ensure ethics underpin your partnership when it comes to sharing contacts and other intellectual property. While you likely already know about most of the security guard companies in your area, joining a security association will give you access to a wealth of information on security contracts. Make sure people know about what you do by advertising online or giving away promotional flyers at events where potential clients might show up. Consider advertising your services online to generate new security contracts. This requires a lot of hard work, but it does get you out there and in front of people who are looking for what you have. Cold-calling or cold-emailing are options as well. Get out there and contact prospective clients to let them know about your services, what you offer, and how they can get in touch with you. This method will generate a lot of, “no thank yous”, but it’s all in the numbers. It just takes that one, “yes” to generate additional revenue. Be sure not to forget about social media. Your presence on these platforms can take a bit of extra maintenance, but in this day and age, the resonance you can generate through them is unparalleled. You can use your freebies and offers as a way to generate new security contracts. If you have an upcoming event, offer something logoed like a t-shirt or keychain for anyone who comes through the door. If you're not doing any events in the near future but still want to advertise, online seminars and free trials are also a great option to get people interested in what you have to offer.
